TDS on job work done for a manufacturing company

Dear Sir,

We do final machine assembling like testing machines. The products which are purchased will be sent for machining, cutting and for other purposes to the outside vendors. Once the products received will be assembled and sold.

My question is whether the job work will attract TDS. They charge GST in their bills.

Please clarify.

Thanks & regards

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) applies to job work undertaken for a manufacturing company. It confirms that TDS is generally applicable on job work, even when a private limited company sends materials to outside vendors for processes like machining or cutting. The GST charged by vendors does not exempt the company from its TDS obligations.

Yes except in case of individual and huf which are not subjected to audit
TDS will be applicable on Job Work

thanks for the reply sir.

But Sir, we are the Pvt Ltd., company and material will be sent for job work. As we are only purchasing the materials and sending it for jobwork any exemption can be taken for not deducting the TDS.

Please clarify.

Thanks in advance
