Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether income earned abroad by an Indian citizen is taxable in India. It highlights that taxability depends on the individual's residential status in India, the source of the income, and where it is received. Income earned and received abroad by a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) is generally not taxable in India, unless it originates from an Indian source or is deemed to be received in India. Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA) may also play a role.
