Tax Refunds after filing Reurns after Due date.

Due to present technical difficulties, we NRI are unable to file our TAX Returns before due date of 31st Dec 2021.

If we miss the said Due de, and file our ITR-2 for our incomes are below the taxable limits, can we get our TAX refunds?

To get refunds, are any procedures do we have to follow before Due date?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses whether Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can still receive tax refunds if they file their Income Tax Returns (ITR-2) after the due date due to technical issues. The consensus is that if your income is below the taxable limit and you file before March 2022, you can still receive your refund without additional penalties or formalities, even if the initial due date of December 31st was missed.

There are no technical difficulties .It's resolved.

Being NRI only income earned or accrued in India will be taxable.

If it is below taxable limit, no penalty need to be paid if return filed after due date, but before March 2022.

Yes, you will get return provided return filed. No other formality to be completed in normal course.
