Tax liability on Joining bonus of Salaried employee

327 views 1 replies

I have received a joining bonus in November 2021, with a stipulation that if I resign within 1 year from the date of joining, I will have to return the money. In June 2022 I have resigned, and have returned the joining bonus amount. My form 16 include the joining bonus amount in my gross salary. I have already filed my return for FY 2021-22. What needs to be done? What will be the tax implications?

Nothing to do you have declare excess income which is never ever objectionable. However if you want to change, revise return by removing bonus from your income.
