Are AI tools like ChatGPT actually useful for CA work? Real experiences wanted

175 views 2 replies

Honest question for practicing CAs and firm owners —

With AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude available today, which parts of your work have actually become easier? And which parts are still just as painful as before?

I ask because I see a lot of generic AI tools being built for the finance space — but most of them don't understand the actual ground reality of how CA firms operate in India.

What's the gap you wish someone would actually fix?

No agenda here. Just a builder trying to understand before building.

AI is excellent for high-volume, low-judgment tasks like drafting and initial data cleaning. However, for high-stakes advisory and litigation, it remains a "co-pilot" that requires constant supervision by a qualified professional.

That's really helpful to hear. When you say document collection is painful is it more about clients being slow to send things, or is it about organizing and verifying what they send once it arrives?
