Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the tax implications of gifting a significant sum of money to a family member, specifically a brother. It confirms that gifts to relatives are generally exempt from UK tax. The advice given is that transferring the full amount via a single cheque is acceptable and no different from instalments for tax purposes. It is also recommended to prepare a gift deed for the transaction.

Gift to brother is exempt from tax, as brother is considered as relative as per income tax act.
So, it's doesn't make any difference whether you are paying in one cheque or by way of instalments.
It's advisable to give in one cheque and also prepare Gift deed for same.
