Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the tax treatment of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Travelling Allowance (TA) for marketing professionals. It explains that while DA and TA are generally considered part of salary, they may be treated as reimbursements if provided specifically for official work. To the extent these allowances are expended for official duties, they can be exempt from tax; any remaining amount is taxable and needs to be declared in your Income Tax Return (ITR).

Dearness Allowance and Travelling Allowance is a part of Salary

If it's provided as part of discharging official work not tobe considered and if it's part of salary to the extent expended is exempt remaining is taxable
