Hi,

I am a Salaried employee from TamilNadu. I am planning to get a home loan. I have below queries.

  1. To approve home loan will the banks ask for Power of attorney?
  2. If yes, will the Power of attorney involve Stamp duty and Registration charges?
  3. If yes, Stamp duty and Registration charges on Power of attorney, eligible for tax benefit under 80C?

Thanks,

Manoj

Stamp duty and registration charges are not eligible for tax benefit under 80C
let us know under which section it is exempted and till for how many years v can carry forward

Clear tax says we have tax benefit for Stamp duty and registration charges

Section 80C deduction in respect of Stamp Duty is only available for Purchase of First House Property i.e. stamp duty for purchase of house property can only availed as deduction u/s 80C. Therefore in your case deduction can't availed.
what documents shall we submit to claim this
