Service Tax is 10.30% for all services tax Value 10% education cess 2% Secoundary Higher Education Cess 1% i.e. 5000Rs Gross ammount then 10% is 500rs tenen do 2% of 500 = 10Rs. No, there is no service tax liability for renting of hotel rooms for the purpose of accomodation.

Room rent by hotels is not under service tax as specifically excluded. Within the purview of the sates in the form of luxury tax.

Who so ever gave u the slab in the starting, my dear frnd its not correct, it comes under luxury tax n not under service tax net. :-) so no st on room rents.

Please note that the answers that St is not applicable are 5 years old. Today there is a levy of ST on accomodation above Rs.1000 per day.
