From the service tax point of view: Can a director be a managing director of 2 Pvt Ltd companies and get exemption from the service tax on the remuneration paid to him by the companies?

no  provision  regarding  any  such  exemption

If director will provider any services to the company then service tax will be arise under reverse charge system.

Any service provided by employee to its employer is not covered under the definition of Service under sec 65B(44)hence it is not a service at all

Yes, rightly pointed by sachin ji. The Managing Director is an employee of the company and any salary paid to him is not covered in the defination of service U/s 65B(44)
