Dear Sir,
As per service tax notification co-op housing society are exempted for Service Tax if members maintenance charges are less than 5000/- per month.
My query is whether the same is applicable to Premises Co-operative Society Ltd ?

The same is not applicable to "PREMISES" co-operative society if its a commercial society.

My friend he had took the service tax registration in the year 2011 but he did not get any business But he not filed the return. Still could file the Nill return it is mandatory? if applicable any penality for late nill return file?
