But the Service Tax Act does not states whether it is for each assessee it states only for the Immovable Property. It also states that the Threshhold limit is for each assessee.l How do we interpret the act

There is no seperate service tax act ! Threshold limit is Rs. 8 lakhs.
Rendering Service is important whether it is pertaining to movable or immovable property i.e immaterial. If the assessee comes under prescribed serives, he will be liable to collect and pay the service tax.
my income is above 8lkhs, our tenants say that there is a provision for the first year that will save us from service tax on rent is there any ,and should the tenants deduct tds on service tax and pay the service tax to the land lord.

Is there any update on the injunction against ST on Rent of Commercial Building by Madras High Court. The case was posted for hearing on 22.10.07.
This particular service tax is attracted only in respect of immovable property. Further TDS amount it appears cannot be deducted.
