We are Pvt. Ltd. company provided a service on which deducted service tax and deposited the same through GAR - 7 challan. Now after 2 month customer not staisfied with service and want refund of amount. So, we have to pay the whole bill amount from which service tax paid to government. Now whether Service tax paid is our loss or else we can take modvat of Service tax paid because of sales return.

You are saying "deducted service tax" In my opinion, you have added service tax in the invoice. Plz do say if I am right. Further, we must also see the proper invoice being raised by you to the customer. Correct terms and conditions need to be set with the clients about the service tax once charged, even if there would be refund, the service tax amount cannot be refunded back. We have to see your invoice and then make the final opinion.

as per my knowledge , you can return the bill amonut excluding service tax. beacause it is not refundable.
for example:-some times on our demand when bank reverse the bank charges in our account then banks dont reverse the service tax imposed by banks.
any other way , experts may tell you.

By getting our course validated do we lose being exempted by service tax?
