We are a listed companay & we are short of an independent director & we are looking for a suitable candiatate. Is there any other way of searching for independent directors apart from approaching people we know or by word of mouth ???? Could we advertise in newspapers ?? Is it a proper industry measure ?? Kindly advise, we do not have much time as per the listing agreement.

Bombay Stock Exchnage has taken the initiative to maintain the database of the directors of listed Companies.
By searching therein you can find out the number of Independent Directors.
Furthermore, you can also publish your requirement in the Newspaper. This will also help you in case there is any delay in appointing the Director.
