When shud I buy the author books ... If my exam is in May 2012....
Wen is d last date for registration for Final CA , if my exam is in 2012 may ....

For May'12 I believe one should already have bought most books by now.

Anyways get asap, suggest have a theory plus problematic paper together. This will save you from the boredom atleast.

You have to read everything, so start whichever you want other than DT/IDT as there will be amendments in it. DT/IDT plan little at the end after other papers.

I THINK TOPPERS ALWAYS PREFER SELF STUDYY...
