hi there

i have my ca final attempt in may 2015.

just wanted to know which book should i go through for my exams for Direct Tax.

i havent attended any coaching classes for Direct Taxes.

should i go for vinod sir's books or stick to module??

and any suggestions for audit reference book?

vg sir..the summary book is really helpful. as far as audit is concerned; surbhi bansals book would be enough. do it thoroughly.

I am doing self study for all 8 subjects
and I think ICAI Study material and PM are best for self study....

on the other hand if u want to refer any authors book than VG is best

First start from VG sir's module as they are really helpful to understand the concepts. Almost every provisions and concepts are followed by numericals so that we can have clarity too. Then after follow summary for revision. I'm following the same pattern.

Refer t n monoharan book. Good book for exam purpose. And pm rtp case laws supplementary study paper. Pm is just revision because all is covered in t n monoharan book All the best be regular in study then it's very easy to clear exam in first attempt

Google with caclub india tag. There are many many posts about best books and other things. You will get all your answers.

Best Wishes. One thing people havnt mentioned is VG has a practice manual too covering questions from past 45 attempts. Solve half of them genuinely you will get idea about possible questions. besides for DT and ITD law and Audit I will suggest Supplementary study paper. awesome examples. Also all subjects have compilations of suggested answer. If you have time ead them. They teach you the manner of asnwering.

All you need is to cover entire portions may or may not be completely so that you can attempt full 100 marks.

Yes first do study with study material of ICAI then test yourself with practice manual and then again review study material and for reference any recognised book u may refer this is the best way of passing ca tuition class is wastage of time ca suresh Agarwal
