I've completed payment of my Education Loan in 2013. I've gotten a letter from the bank specifying the total amount paid towards the completion. This is for submission as a proof for deduction under section 80E.
Is a detailed descripttion of the amount paid as interest necessary ? If not, is there a way to specify a percentage of the payment as interest? Do I have to get the interest amount specified in writing for submission as a proof?
