can someone please tell me from which year will the indexation beneift be allowed when convertible debentures are converted to equity shares and such equity shares are sold.

indexation is not allowed in the case of debentures
As per the provision of income tax act debentures are convert into shares it is not a transfer
indexation will be allowed when the shares are sold. but indexation will be allowed from the date of acquistion of debentures? or indexation will be allowed from the date of conversion of debentures into shares?
fro. the date of acquisition of debentures since it is merely conversion debentures into shares , it will not be considered transfer and for the purpose of calculating indexed cost of acquisition you take the value paid for acquisition of debenturea
