Do I have to deduct TDS while making one time payment of Rs. 54000 to transport agent for goods transport, where there is no such contract between us?

You have to deduct 2% on 54000..if the transporter owns less than 10 trucks, you don't have to deduct. But, take declaration from transporter in this regard..Refer 194C(6)
