Schedule CFL not showing Previous Years' C/F losses as prefilled automatically in current year

Efiling 2360 views 15 replies

While filing ITR 2, Schedule CFL is showing Zero as previous year wise C/F Losses. But there are c/f losses and the same were shown in last year in CFL and ITR was filed before 31/07/22 and assessment also duly done.

As the figures are strangely Not reflecting automatically  in current year, Can we enter manually year wise  losses To be carried forward in CFL this year and compute set off ?

will it be accepted or treated as defective return?

Kindly inform if any one has this problem and advise remedy.

Have you confirmed Schedule BFL?

Sir, you mean BFLA? or CFL? And you are referring to last year ITR or this year to be filed ITR2?

Yes, Schedule BFLA.          & Confirm it.

This year ITR 2.

I confirmed in BFLA as well as CGL (which is not populated and  showing still zero as previous years' B/F Losses) and after pressing 'compute set off' in both  BFLA and CGL, it is taking current year Short and long term capital gains as Taxable in "Taxable Income".

What to do sir?

Can I enter manually Prev Years' Losses in CGL?

Ca n you give any other option/solution Sir?

Yes, if bought forward losses are not prefilled, then enter it manually.

Sorry to bother you sir. After manually entering,  System is computing perfectly showing b/f and c/f  loss and adjusting STCG and LTCG.

Just waiting for your confirmation whether it is alright to do manual editing and okay to go ahead and File ITR2 as the D Day is fast approaching.

If your manually entering the bought forward losses are genuine, then go ahead. No need to worry...

Good Luck...

Sir, Everything went well but After validation, it says one error:-

Category of defect A:

Error descreption and suggestion: If option No is selected for new tax regimen u/s 115bac and in sch VIA, if resident has selected 80U to claim deduction for self disability then amount should be equal to 75000

Category of defect B/D

:Error descreption and suggestion: If option No is selected for new tax regimen u/s 115bac and in sch VIA, if resident has selected 80DD to claim deduction for dependent person disability then amount should be equal to 75000.

But on verifying VI A both 80DD and 80U are zero.

Any idea what is the problem and how to go about it?

If you are filing the return under new tax regime, remove the Schedule VIA.

Deselect it on first page.

Old regime only and even I tried fresh filing and this time it says I have claimed under 80U and suggesting to claim up to 75000!

Delete the section under the schedule VIA. save it.

Confirm the schedule. Close the utility.

Restart it. Directly go for validation.

In most of the cases it gets omitted. In case you still find error, file complaint under Grievances.

No sir same error and it seems few others are also experiencing it.

Most of them, the luckier ones, have removed the error in same fashion.

This is the trick we have used and advise others.

Another option is Go the sec. 80U. Click dropdown list.

Clik on the select option (default is severe disability)

Save & confirm the schedule. Hope this will solve your issue.

Dear Sir,

As suggested by you, I deleted 80DD as well as entered 80U then deselected.

After several attempts, succeeded in validating and verification and finally submitted ITR.

Thank you so much for being patient and guiding at every stage in ensuring filing returns in time.

Also My suggestion for the sake of others is that somebody at higher level should take up these matters to cpc because people struggle and suffer at the nth minute with such glitches!
