Rule for getting rank in ca ipcc

hello friends., myself swetha. i wrote ipcc in may 2012 but i failed . this is my 2nd attempt. now i am planning for may 2013 exam and i want to get a rank. but my friend said that only people making their 1st attempt will be awarded a rank. is this true. i think that student who scores highest will be given ranks . please clarify

no there is no such requirement that if u want a rank u will get it only in first attempt. rank is given to candidates on highest marks basis irrespective of first atempt or third attempt.....

Dear Swetha,

1. No such rules/ notices are published by ICAI regarding RANKS... 

2. No attempt counts to get rank in any level exam of CA. Rank is granted as per your Grand total and if you have crossed 55% & above.

3. The process of Ranks and marks are purely computer programming based so Certainly ICAI staffs donot go for every rankers to see whether they are 1st attempte or not.

just Giving you an example: My fren got 33 rank in PCC in 4 attempt and if you go for results of  CA final nov 10 or May 2010 ( cant remember clearly) you will see CA FINAL rank holder of 2nd attempt.

So, Warm up and go for studies if you want to clear with flying colors "RANK"..

Just chill out and donot listen to others. 

 

Declaration of a candidate of Common Proficiency Test (CPT), Intermediate (IPC) and Final examinations conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), as a rank holder. - (10-09-2014)

9th September,

2014 ICAI recognizes meritorious candidates in CPT, by ranking them on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by them in CPT up to 10th rank, on an all India basis, subject to his/her having secured a minimum of 60 percent marks. There is no practice of declaring any candidate as having secured a rank beyond 10 in CPT. So also, ICAI recognizes meritorious candidates in Intermediate (IPC) and CA Final examination, by ranking them on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by them in both the groups, on an all India basis, subject to his/her having secured a minimum of 55 percent marks, in one sitting without availing of any exemptions. There is no practice of declaring any candidate as having secured a rank beyond 50 in Intermediate (IPC) or CA Final Examination. Students and other stakeholders are hereby requested to take note of the above and not be misguided by advertisements/publicity, contrary to the above stated position.
