A company which is running a pharma business renovated their premises during the year 13-14. Being a Service Receiver, the Company paid ST on 31/3/14 along with interest as applicable and showed the same in the ST3.

 

The Company is also Renting a part of their premises and hence collecting ST from the tenant.

In this Case, can the Company claim the ST amount paid as receiver against the ST payable on Rent in the year 2014-15?

Yes, u can set off Service tax paid as recepient against service tax liability on rent in 2014-15
