There are positive side of articleship; what i am writing is to tear apart that bloke's article.

your views towards articlship transfer ans reducing the articled period shall be appreciable , But the comparison with articleship student and a street girls cannot be fair

We are contributing to the national progress although we aint getting a fair deal; and the call girls not street gals are doing illegal things.

But both's plight are similar

Vikesh has undergone articleship under my firm.  I appreciate the critical comments on his English.

But you all will also appreciate that despite appearing CA in Hindi Medium for PE II and passed with individual groups; he has made that feat i.e. three gold medals in CA Final.

Like others; I motivated him for Rank looking to the fact that he scored 95% marks in M.Com. Examination (Hindi Medium). He is very good in numbers; no doubt. 

This is the reason he could achieve three gold medals in Accountancy, Cost Accountancy and Indirect Taxes.

Regarding his writing on articleship training; I don't accept that Institute has forced him to write  something. Believe me; Institute's standards are  very high at Central Council Level.   

In coming years;  fantastic changes are likely to come.  One of the them is introduction of case studies in CA Curriculum. This point has been narrated by the President CA Amarjeet Chopra in Mumbai on 05 03 2010 where I was present. The day when such amendments will take place; a CA student will not require qualification of MBA.   Please note that the Institutes has already taken solid steps to strenghen its infrastructure.

In practical life; excellency does not mean only English. Of course; it has weightage. Even I can say some students have qualified for CA despite having very poor handwriting i.e. almost illegible.

So the ideas and application thereof are more important. 

Regarding training and selection of the articleship with a CA firm; students should take care at the time of entry into the profession.   The problem  of transfer may be solved soon because this point was also discussed by the President in above meeting. He was in favour of secondment.

 In one of the forum; approx 20 days before I have already written that transfer  should be accepted because in a CA firm all the varieties of work is not available whereas in CA Final the Institute requires practical and expert knowledge of different subjects. I also requested to the students to draw this particular point to the Institute. 

It is my request to the students that whatever mistakes they have committed to select a firm which is not suitable for their career; the same can be rectified in future. 

Life does not end with  three years of articleship. 

Once a businessman takes wrong decision; they have to lose crores of rupees (for example - A loss of Rs.1500 crore to Tata Motors to put the plant in West Bengal). 

So when you realize the mistake and unable to switch; pass the time which is beyond your control and after that  take right decision.

No one change can go back

change a bad beginning,

but

anyone can start anything anytime

and

create a successful ending.

i am terribly sorry if i have offended you. It's great that atleast there are some rankholders who have undergone articleship. You are very much aware that there are many if not all rankholders are dummies or semi dummies or dummy at end of their articleship.

Sir, if u don't mind i would like to ask u some questions . IT's not about Vikesh.

a)First of all, u said that Chopra sir is in favour of articleship secondment,. But that was still allowed by Uttam Agarwal. Secondment is temporary transfer isn't it; after secondment we still need have our form 108 signed by the original CAs.

b) even i have heard through my friends who are CAs and attended an icai function recently where a new office bearer said that "transfer ban rules are gonna be scrapped". Did chopra sir in his last speech which u attended say anything. Please elaborate.

c)What is this case studies exactly. Even now, we are given a situation ; for example info about incomes, expenses, investments of assessees and told to calc. various taxes.

How is this case study different?

d)did chopra sir mention about online working diary? That thing is not feasible and will prove to be an additional headache for students(even genuine ones; as CAs may not sign them without manipulating it in his own benefit).

e)Did chopra speak anything about increasing the seats of ind. training OR reducing articleship of pcc students TO 3 years?

Sir, you are in an exotic group of practising CAs who are more co-operating and inspiring rather than most who are exploiting and intimidating articles.

Dear Jose,

You are in my friends' list. Whatever you wrote; were your views. If something is misunderstood ; we should discuss in the forum. 

The matter opened in the forum  was not big one,  but I realized that some misconception prevailed in the society about CA profession as a whole. 

CA Chopraji  is a great personality. He has just taken charge. He is very clear in his attitude.

Whatever I noticed during the meeting, is as under: 

1. Quality training with the help of centre of excellence. 

2. Request to members to prepare for allowing secondment (transfer) for betterment of the profession. 

3. Biometric attendance arrangement for CPE hours for members. 

4. Disclosure of decisions of the Council when these are finalised. 

5. Preparation of modules on the basis of Case Studies format (Actual incidences of  the corporate world)   to make them interesting and more practical. The intention is to beat MBA institutions - it is my opinion. So whatever is provided at MBA institutes; the same will be delivered in CA profession.

6. Empaneloment of faculties.

7. Improved Coaching facilities for CA students.  

6. Speedy  disposal of students' complaints by restructuring administration. 

7. Downloading of registration/examination forms and online payment of fee. 

8. Regarding Training Reports he emphasized certain improvement for which decisions are to be taken soon.  

9. Stability in registration and training pattern on CA profession.

10. Speedy disposal of disciplinary actions against members. He narrated that institute took 123 cases against its members in previous 3 years. No other professional body has taken such actions against their members.  

CA G Ramaswmy, Vice President,  is also a hard working person. He comes from a very small town of South India. 

The President admitted certain deficiencies which requires to be cured immediately. 

So  we should hope corrective steps soon. 

My request to the students is that - HAVE FAITH IN YOUR PROFESSION. 

If you see that our career has been ruined; leave it now and join another one. 

When you join CA; hundreds of  the problems will come but you have to face them.

You see that a super specialist Doctor has only one area of  his practice.

Now I ask one question :

Whether students have mastery over the field in which their boss is engaged ?

If yes, help your boss to solve his problems.

If not, go for it. 

The formula of GIVE AND TAKE prevails in all the circumstances. 

The road to success is not straight.
