Hello,

In 2013 , I resigned from my company X in Feburary & my last day was 8th April 2014.

In April I had joined a new organisation Y

For the month of Feb & March 2013, my salary was not paid but was paid in full & final in May 2014.

Even though they had deducted my tax for the full year (i.e. including Feb & march) in 2013.

Since they paid my dues(arrears of Feb & ,Mrach salary) in May 2014.

Will this needs to be filed as 12 b section along with my New company Y salary & pay taxes by suming my

Company X payment in May + Company Y salary.

or i can claim Company X payment under "Relief Under section 89 of Indian Income Tax" ?

Please guide.

Thanks

Vineety

if you have already shown this salary in your return for FY 12-13 then you dont need to do anything now. if you hadnt included it in that year but claimed the tds in full, then this year you are first reqd to add arrear salary with current yr salary and then claim relief accordingly.
