Registration under excise

Dear Abhishek,

According to Rule 9 of CER, 2002, the manufacturer in your case is not requrired to get registerd till his turnover is Rs. 150 lakhs. If it exceeds that limit, then only he is required to get registered. and if his turnover ranges in between Rs. 90 lakh to Rs. 150 lakh for the year, then he is required to give declaration in the specified format for the same.

on more doubt even though the turnover is within the exemption limit do i have to register as SSI to get such exemption ?
