Quick Summary
If your business deals in books with a turnover of £60 lakh, you may need to register for GST, especially if you're an interstate supplier. However, if you exclusively sell exempt books like textbooks or those for the disabled, GST registration might not be required. Stationery items, however, are not exempt.

Yes,you are liable to register under gst as you have crossed the threshold limit of Rs. 40 Lakh(in case of goods and Rs.20lacs in case of services.)
If you are a inter state supplier then there is no threshold limit, registration is compulsory.
But book is exempt in GST
If you are dealing only in books such as text books or books for the disabled (which are exempt).
Then registration is not required.
Stationery item is not exempt.
Not liable to registration as books is exempted under gst as per section 11 of cgst act 2017 and section 6 of igst act 2017
