Regarding Interest

If any dealer has filed his returns late in financial year 2017-18 and no tax liability occurred adjusted through ITC then also will he have to pay interest on it.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether dealers who filed late GST returns in FY 2017-18, with no tax liability adjusted via ITC, must pay interest. The consensus is that no interest is due if the tax liability is zero, as interest is calculated on the tax amount itself. However, late fees may still apply.

As per my view No...

But, Late fee is applicable.
Interest is calculated on tax figure. if tax itself is zero then interest will also be zero.
