i have received RS 600000 as arrear payment from my organisation after deducting a tax of Rs 1.5 lk. Is there a way to get some kind of refund on the income tax i have paid? if yes , how? thanks in advance

You can file your return. And get refund.
you can get refund only if your total tax liabilty is less than Rs. 1.5 Lakhs. And u have to file ITR
thanks for the reply . but i am not clear about total tax liability. is it on my annual income? can i file the ITR online?
total tax liabilty will be calculated on all of your income in a financial year and yes you can file your itr online
First you should calculate relief u/s 89. Because relief u/s 89 may reduce your tax liability...
After that you should file your return electronically for refund.
