Refund of tds

TDS 615 views 5 replies

Dear Friends , I have a query please help me in this matter.

If a bank deduct TDS on interest income while we have submitted Form 15G but by mistake bank deducted TDS . Bank did not enter the Pan no. of deductee thats why they deducted 20% TDS on interest income . While i check 26 AS it does not show the TDS credit because bank did not entered the PAn No. I complain to bank for this matter then they told that  we  inserted your Pan no but the credit of TDS is not showing in 26 as  But they give me 16A .

I want the refund of this 20% TDS. Assese does not have any other income except this . How I can get my Refund.

Please Give your Replies .....

Friend Hitesh ,

Dont Bother about that Because sometime it can happan that the TDS Credit not Showing in the Form- 26AS . But Since the Bank has given you Form-16A So on that Basis you Can File your Return (ROI) by claiming the Refund.

For More Info. Since Bank already have inserted PAN then they Dont have to deduct TDS @ 20% they are eligible only upto the 10%

Dear Pravin Prajapat

Thanks for your Advice.

The assesee have only Interest Income from different bank which is less than the basic limit . Is it neceassery to show the all the interest income or I can file return showing only interest income in which TDS is deducted.

I want to show Only that interest income on which tds is deducted is it OK??

Mr. Hitesh, Yesh You Can show only that Interest Income On which TDS has deducted. Its Suffice. but If you want to show All Other Interest then you can.

Is the PAN mentioned in Form 16A ? Is the 16A downloaded from TIN website and have the necessary numbers.
