Refund Failure for Deceased

Legal Heir (Pan - BCKPP0336F)

Deceased (Pan - AFUPP4062L)

 

I have applied myself as a Legal Heir in IT Portal and that got approved and Pre-Validated my Bank A/C as a Legal Heir for Refund 

I have filed my Father's (Deceased) ITR for A.Y 2023 - 24 as a Legal Heir and the ITR also got processed with Refund Due.

But the Refund failed. I have raised "Refund Reissue" request several times but everytime it got failed stating reason "PAN NOT LINKED TO THE ACCOUNT". How can a deceased PAN link to the Account as because the Deceased Bank A/C are closed.

But on 21st September 2023, I again raised a Refund Re-issue Request and the status is showing "APPROVED"  in IT Portal. But again a mail came to me that Refund got FAILED due to PAN not Linked to the Account , but in IT Portal it's still showing Refund Request Approved and Create Refund Re-issue is also not available now. What will I do now?

This is the practical problem due to merging of banks with other banks .

We faced the same issue for few tax payers . Some managed the situation and resolved it.

Submit the PAN card copy in bank to link PAN with bank account. Your issue will be resolved in a day.

You may revalidate the bank account there after

But the deceased bank account is closed. I have Pre-Validated my Bank A/C as Legal Heir and Nominated my Bank A/C for Refund while filing the ITR for the deceased

Yes. You are right.

You have to give your PAN card copy in your bank branch to link your PAN with your bank account

Yes my Bank A/C is linked with my PAN.

I am unable to see this attachment since I am using app and not web.

Even if it's linked you have to submit a copy again in bank. It's just like a technical glitch

So if I give a copy of MY PAN in my Bank A/C will it be resolved?

Mostly it will be resolved.

Verify the IFSC code also since few branches IFSC code changed .

You may update email and mobile number in bank account same as that of IT website.

This can fix your problem for sure.

Recenlty we have resolved similar issue
