Please let me know whether the company and the proposed director should go through the formalities of DIN -2 and DIN - 3 even if the person whose appointment is to be made was a director in the same company before a year.

If the proposed director already holding a valid DIN number then there is no need to follow DIN guidelines all over again.

The compliance of filing DIN-2 and DIN-3 deal with appointment of director before July 1, 2007.If you are appointed a person as a director before july 2007 which was earlier director of the company , in such case such appointment will be consider as fresh appointment and it will be required to file DIN-2 and DIN-3 accordingly.
