Service Tax rate is flat 10.30% for all sevices.
last year it was 12 % + 3%education cess i.e. 12.36%
& dis year it is 10 % + 3% educatin cess i.e. 10.3%
Normal rate is 10% + 3 % cess on tax. However several services have abatments which are conditional / unconditional. The effective rate could be lower.
Normaley 10.3%.
w.e.f. 24.02.2009 rate of service tax is 10%, Education Cess 2% and Secondary and higher Education cess is 1%. In nut shall it is 10.3% of value of taxable service.

Fron 24.02.09 the SERVICE TAX Rate is 10% + 2% + 1% ( 10.3% ). Previously it was 12% + 2% 1% ( 12.36% ). In some service the SERVICE TAX Authority has sanctioned some Abatements. For the list of Abatements you can mail me. serviece.tax.ac @ gmail.com
