As we all know that students preparing for November 2011 IPCC exams have to study taxation for assessment year 2011-12. What I want to ask is that what assessment year will be applicable in May 2012. Will it be A.Y. 2012-13 or the same i.e. A.Y. 2011-12?

what you apply in practise is applicable in exams too.................
For May 2012 - AY 2012-13 and Finance Act 2011 is applicable.
AY-2012-13 PY-2011-12
For November 2012 exams which Assement year is applicable & and which ref. book I should use for CA IPCC.

For both May 2012 & Nov 2012, AY 2012-13 Tax provisons are applicable.
You can refer the RTP's (Revision Test Papers) to know the ammendments applicable for exam.
