Hello everyone,
I am working in a software industry as a Insurance Consultant (Business Analyst),I have done MBA (Insurance and Finance) I would like to any professional course to enhance skills. I heard about Company Secretary course, but what I also heard was after clearing CS (Exective & Professional) one must undergo training under a prescribed Company Secretary. My question is , is it really mandatory ?? How much stipend can be expected,please suggest.

If we clear all CS exams and do not undergo practical training, is there any use in taking up CS?
Like, if a person is doing CA or CWA majorly, and takes up CS as a complementary course and later is unable to do the training, wil his CS become useless?
no it does not become useless. knowledge which you will get from doing this course will of use in your career.

Training is not mandatory in all the cases - you can avail the exemption from training.
Find the attached training guide of ICSI, read chapter 6 for exemption (only experience based - i.e. also in corporates having prescribed paid-up capital and/or asset base or exemption to practicing CA/CMA/Advocate) from training (specifically page 25).
and CA articleship have no worth for sake of availing exemption from CS training.
and After clearing CS-professional exam Student may get him/her self enrolled as licenciate with ICSI (renewed upto five years) (during this five year he/she may can complete training or avail exemption).

So in all, I should complete the training or gain work experience in that field for a certain number of years within 5 years or else my LCS qualification will be cancelled?
