Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the necessary documents and procedures for handling purchase returns. It explains that suppliers issue credit notes for returns, which act as debit notes for the buyer and are recorded in accounting. For GST purposes, a supplier's credit note is crucial, while a customer's debit note isn't disclosed. If the time limit for returns has passed, a financial credit note without taxes may be issued. For goods transportation, a delivery challan and an e-way bill are recommended.

You should require to produce any document for purchase return because your supplier will give credit for sale return (in point of view of him) which is debit note for you and such debit will be recorded in your books as well as shown in return
@ Mr Garimella.,

Can You ask Your with correct details...?

You want to ask books entry or material transportation...?

For GST - Supplier credit note is required for goods returned. Customer debit note would not be required to be disclosed under GST.

Where timelimit is passed (30th Sept of subsequent FY) - option to raise financial credit note (without taxes)

For transportation - delivery challan as per Rule 55 and E-way bill is suggested.
