Introduction of ITR with digital signatures want done to do the processing of ITRV at CPC quickly , however I have observed that the income tax returns filed without digital signatures and then sent to CPC by post are been processed faster than the one with digital signature. Then why to waste ones time and money in accruing digital signature if it is faster the other way round. ( the above cases are all non tax audit case )

Mr Qadri Please note that no one so fool to buy DSC only to e-file I Tax Return. DSC is also being used for other purposes like e-filing with ROC, bank transactions etc. DSC is mandatory for all e-filing with ROC. Using DSC does not mean that Return shall be processed on priority but function of DSC is to skip sending ITR signed at Bangalore. Moreover, DSC is of great help to those who are not in India at the time of e-filing and expenses on Post or Courier from Abroad to CPC office at Bangalore.
