02 January 2014

Dear Friends

Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all of you and your family and friends.

CS Exams are over. Relax, Party time.

Friends, I would like to share my view and experiance. Please prepare in advance. Advance preparation is always better. Make your Plans and implement Plans at the earliest and regularly achive deadlines of plans with descipline.

By January 15th, please start your preparation;

1. Those who have appeared for one Module, please start preparation of next module.

2. Those who have appeared for all Modules and are not confident of passing specific Module, start that Module

3. Every day give 2-3 hrs; Sunday give 6-7 hrs

4. Dont select Tax Module to appear in June attempt, coz all amendements are not clearly available by month of May from any of the resources. Select Tax Module to appear in December attempt, coz by December all amendments are available.

Please refer ICSI Authenticate Study Material as many time as you can read. Please refer to my posts at CCI. I strongly recommend ICSI Study Material and no other Books. Yeh, u may refer Shuchita Prakashan Solved Scanner for Chapter Priority Chart for preparation from Modules, Guidelines, Suggested Answers. Keep Scanner along with you while you prepare from Module;

Books;

1. Module (Study Thoroly)+ All Bare Acts(incu. Indirect Taxes) (for Reference)

2. Guideline Answers = Past Exam Paper Solutions since Jun 2009 to till latest attempt completed, e.g. Dec 2013

Those who are registered for New Syllabus; may refer old syllabus Guidelines and Suggested Answers, as most of the topics are same, some topics are eleminated and some are new (except Tax and Companies Act 2013-Prepare from Module+Amendments & Bare Act).

3. Suggested Answers = 5 Test Papers given at the end of Modules. You may buy from ICSI Delhi Store, contact 01204522097. Inquire and buy from ICSI @ 70/- per book. Guidelines also @ 70/- per book

4. Shuchita Prakashan Solved Scanner-Green Edition

Preparation Plan

1. Read Module Chapters thoroughy, after reading one chapter, page mark Ans. of Qsn. given at the back of that chapter. Prepare Q.A. in Note Book, Keep Scanner with you so that you can prepare all possible Q.A. of that Chapter from Scanner also. (Module reading at least Twice)

2. Once you are prepared with Module and Scanner as above in stage 1., read Suggested Answers. (Suggested reading Thrice (3rd time at previous day of exam))

3. Once you are thru with Suggested Answers, read Guideline Answers (June 2009 to till lates attempt,e.g. Dec 2013). Now you would think, once u have already prepared Q.A. of past papers from scanner while preparing Module Chapters, why should you read Guidelines? :) Preparing Module Chapters and Q.A. of that chapter from module page mark and all remaining Q.A. from Scanner would help you to easy understand and fast preparation. And when you would prepare Guidelines at this stage after reading Suggested Answers as above in stage 2., will enhance your confidence. (Guideline reading Twice)

3. Prepare small parts first and very thoroly, i.e. Part A-B-C (40-30-20 marks) whatever the case may be.

4. Friends Please note, For Tax - please refer all possible study material from ICSI and Scanners. Its more than sufficient. Refering to other Books and reference books will be time consuming that will affect preparation of other subjects.

Time

1. Give every day 2-3 hrs for preparation

2. On Sunday give at least 6-7 hrs

3. Repeat same preparation, one month advance prior to exams again; Module+Scanner, Suggested and Guidelines

4. Previous day of exam read Full Suggested Answers and past 3 attempts Guidelines.

Appearing in Exam

1. Appear One Module at a time, reason is all Modules are given different roll no. and the checking of papers are with Rank holders, ICSI needs Rank Holders and First attempt pass. The chances of passing for students who are average, 50%-60%. Checking is strict.

2. Appearing one by one Module, one at a time, gives sufficient time for preparation and mental pressure and burden is less as the subjects are less to prepare. At peace minutely all topics can be prepared and passing one Module at a time incrreases chances of passing.
