Practising ca

hello friends,

i want to know that whether a practising chartered accountant can be working partner in partnership firm engaged in any other business or profession.

If yes, then whether permission from icai is required and what will its consequences.

Plz tell me......

for best guidance on such issues please refer some experts who are into practice 


as per my views if any Practicing CA does so he will be held guilty of professional misconduct under clause 11 of part 1 of First schedule of Chartered Accountants Act 1949

for such cases specific permission of council of ICAI is required. Such permission is granted by the executive committee of ICAI.

90% Senior CA's of Partnership Firm are doing the same.........Please check them by net surfing.........some are the 

MD's of other/several companies.
