I want to ask if there is any lock-in period for investment made in PPF Account under PPF Act.

Lock in period is 15 years.

15 YEARS PERIOD.
I have heard that although the lock in period is 15 yrs....i can withdraw money after 5 yrs from the end of the yr in which money is deposited, after paying some penalty.
kindly confirm if it is correct.
If correct, what are the penalties for withdrawing before 15 yrs..
