Pensioner it tds wrongly deducted in wife name &pan

TDS 731 views 2 replies

I am a Central Government Pensioner Receiving Pension through State Bank of India. I and my wife jointly hold a SB Account in the Bank in which the Pension is credited. My Income Tax TDS has been deducted from the account but the name and PAN submitted to the Income Tax department by the Bank is that of my wife.

As I am primarily responsible to remit my Income Tax in time

What is the best and easy way to solve this problem?

What action can I take against the Bank to recover the expenses that I will be incurring?

Ask to bank to revise the return of tds and mention your pan

I agree with Mr. Subhash Kumar Jha but in case Bank will not ready for the Revised Return  so, firstly please give a letter to the bank for Rectification and when bank accepts the letter then Bank will have to issue an error accepting letter on their letter head after some days.
