Penal provision for non compliance with E PAYMENT of taxes

All Companies, Tax Audit Assessees shall pay taxes in electronic mode from 01/04/2008. All of us know this.

My query is

What will be the consequence if one is not complying this?
Is there any explicit penalising provision?
If yes, kindly provide the details.

finance bill 2008 has introduced a penalty to pay tax electronically where applicable, with a maximum of Rs 5000/ per failure.
