goodwill is neither calculated by gaining nor sacrificing. But first goodwill is calculated nd afterwards distributed in the ratio of gaining nd sacrificing
in case of admission we need to calculate the sac ratio and then disturbe among the partners but in cae of retirement we need to to calculate gaining ratio and then compensate the retiting or the dead partner
