Notice under section 143(2) after 1 year of return filing

Yes,  you have to  go to Income Tax Office on Specified date given in the Notice.. 

The time limit for issuance of notice under section 143(2) is 6 months from the end of financial year in which the return was filed. Since you filed your tax return in July 2011, the time limit for issuance of notice would be 30 September 2012, i.e. within 6 months from end of FY 2011-12. The notice which you have received is a valid notice under the current provisions and you should appear before the income tax officer on the appointed date either himself or by your authorized representative.

yes u shd visit as notice can be SERVED(not issued) within 6 months from the end of the fin yr in which return is filed i.e 30th sept 2012. since the notice has been served to u on 22nd aug 2012 it is valid
