We are making payment to a party and deducting TDS at lower rate as they have provided us the lower rate tds deduction certificate. We have got the notice of short deuction of TDS from the IT department is demanding the TDS amount short deducted with Interest.
Kindly advise.
In your TDS return check whether you have included the deduction udner lower rate flag? Also for return periods after July 2013, you have to provide the certificate number of the certificate of lower deduction obtained by your payee.
These can be correted in a correction statement and uploaded again
