NO COLORS IN SOUTH INDIA !!!

Introduction 4669 views 25 replies

My Experience in Chennai on Day of Holi:-

No Colors, No Water...

Even People Dont Know "What is Holi"....

Everything is Normal....No Bandh (Close) like we Have in North and Middle East/West Part of India.....

South India Culture is Almost Opposite to North Indian Culture....

Every One is Working in Office.

How News Channel are Showing That "All India is Playing With Colors....Happy Holi"....

Why They Don't Say Like This "Except Chennai and South Part of india"...

- No Colors in South India

Dear Friend,

I am Not Saying Anything Against Chennai.

It was just a discussion about  Culture.

Thanks.

YES,

OFCOURSE MR.AYUSH AGRWAL,

ACTUALLY HOLI CELEBRATIONS ARE VERY LESS IN SOUTH WHEN YOU COMPARED WITH NORTH INDIA...

EVEN HERE ALSO PEOPLE WHO CAME FROM NORTH REGION AND SETTLED HERE WILL CELEBRATES GRANDLY..

OTHERS ALSO CELEBRATE BUT IT IS LIMITED TO YOUTH AND CHILDREN..

if you get to visit sowcarpet or i can north madras to be in particular , you get to see people celebrating holi . some years back, there were many young boys grp who take advantage of this festival and create many nuisance here . spraying waters on people who travel by public transport and many accidents take place every year due to this . now this had been controlled to a lot more extent .. every region has their own speciality . you get to see people celebrating like mad on diwali  and poongal ..

"Why Holi is Not Celebrated in Chennai"..

Written by Boopathi From Chennai..

Just Came Across His Article.

It maybe because...

1. Holi marks the beginning of the new season, spring. (which is not observed in chennai on a large scale)

2. Non belief in the mythological story of Prahlad

Holi is not celebrated in South India, as seen in other parts of the country. Now, because of the migration and influence of people of other parts of India, it is being celebrated in certain localities. South India has a culture inherited from the Dravidians, which is different from that of Aryans. Aryans have migrated to South India long back and a mixing has taken place.

Certain celebrations have regional differences, they are not purely religious festivals as such. The temple festivals in South is different in nature compared to those in North. 'Onam' is celebrated in Kerala, originally by Hindus, but not in other parts of the country, though Hindus are available there.

What is the Use of Posting Here by Coping From Yahoo.

I Already Have Been There.

Festival is meant to create a healthy environment.

But in Holi, I can only find

Toxic chemicals & Obnoxious smell angry

I wonder how people can even enjoy it!!!

Whatever that's just my opinion.....

(P.S. Holi is celebrated very widely in my locality; but I don't take part)

Its absoulutely disgusting to play with waste sewage water & throwing it on other poeple making them too dirty..U are right..south indians are not dirty as others & dont follow such useless culture, which his totally meaningless.

Yeah, In Hyderabad People Celebrate.

Generally Its in Extreme South Part Like Chennai and kerala.

Hyderabad is the Starting Point of South not much affected by south culture. and even I Relate to Same Region.

Hyderabad is known for celebrating each and every festival... It has mixed population..
