New IT Portal Issues Still not Resolved

FM Nirmala Sitharaman had set 15th September as the deadline for Infosys to resolve issues in the new IT Portal. However, that still remains a distant dream for taxpayers and professionals. 

A mixed opinion about the operation of the new portal has been received. What are your views on this? Share below!

Most of technical glitches observed earlier have been resolved by yesterday evening.

Many of the assesses are happy to file their ITRs today.

Though the system is not fully functional.

It may be the reason that the last date for filing were further extended just few days back.

The New IT Portal working good compared to last month, from our side better performed by new IT Portal.

Totally agree. Number of issues are unsolved and hopefully the portal should work at least by the end of September

1. Issues in e-Verification of AY 2020 returns: a. OTP issues b. Request for Condonation of delay does not include "Other" reasons - other than those listed. It was there in the earlier portal. Invalidation of Returns - Unfair: Delay reasons beyond control like Covid pandemic disturbances, Technical glitches, etc. not taken into consideration. c. ITR acknowledgement not available - even with 'invalid' watermark. Specifically needed for Bank Loan.

Form 10-IE issue is not at all solved. While some are able to file, many are able to file. In my case. date of birth is not auto-populated in Form 10-IE. Grievances, repeated reminders and e-mails serve no purpose. Without filing form 10-IE, how can I file ITR-3?

When the bank account is updated  when the IFSC code was entered , the autopopulated bank name and branch was correctly autofilled by the portal. ie the IFSC code obviously matched with the RBI's database or else the bank name and branch name would not have been correctly auto filledby the portal.

 Despite this,while uploading the return, the message "IFSC code entered does not match with RBI database appears. Please correct the error".and the return does not get uploaded.

This situation has been persisting for the past 15days and is still unresolved despite raising a grievance with attached screenshot, and no response has been received to the grievance.

in the caseof another assessee, although the sms states that the 143(1)showing proposed adjustments has been sentby email, it has not been sent despite raising grievance. 3 timesI.(The old portal had a rsend option)t is also not available for download. Only response button working.

Only log in speed has increased.No help forthcoming from the helpdesk

It is surprising that all are talking about upload problems but nobody is questioning the logic contained Offline Utility which conitiuously irritates with folllwing main problems :-

1. 234A is not levied in ITR3 even if self-asssessment tax payable is more than Rs.1,00,000 while it is levied in ITR1 & ITR2,

2.In 234A if somebody has paid Self-Assessment tax in August 2021, the utility still levies same interest @ 1 % for September and gives trauma to CA & Assessee both. 

3.In 234C it levies interest on Exempt portion of Long Term Capital Gains. Last year also it was initially levied but then utility was corrected thenafter.

4.Even after person's filing of  Form 10-IE, it does not autipopulate the field with Date and acknowledgement. In fact these fields are disabled for no reason and assessee is not able to input those data so ITR3 can not be uploaded. 

5.Even the utility does not allow use to input fields of interest u/s.234A, 234B & 234C and compels him either to PAY NOW or PAY LATER.even though those calculations are grossly erroneous.

6.Due to above all difficulties, Computations, Tax Payments and Forms are already done but not able to upload returns.

@ Dipakumar As regards issue 4 pointed out by you, the costly solution is to use private software wherein you can manually input ack no and date as informed by my friend, The portal accepts the JSON generated by the software. I agree that it should not be the case. Nobody likes the portal.

No notice is received from faceless penalty sect. Site was not allowing to upload or to view. Tab shows as closed. no order is available in spite of several attempts. Message received as "Document is not able to down load due to server issue".

Some what better for previous month at the time of filing of returns but still some problems I personally identified

1. ''Rectification'' tab under ''services'' menu is not added

2. Aadhar Verification still problem...

3. Responses menu still problem and more...

It seems that not all issues are resolved .While on surface it may seem that main reason is IT people don't understand Info systems and Info system don't u understand income tax law , real problem seems to be lack of service culture and attitude in CBDT owing to bureaucratic culture resulting in most people behave like glorified clerks and there is no dynamism in the set up.Had they had this  they would have tested the matter before telling FM that they are ready .Major share of responsibility lies with CBDT for lack of competence and lack of service culture .

Even in small changes in AY 21-22 they had made changes as late as 15th June 21 and those filers who prepared their ITR forms before 15th June 20 has to refill data us I g modified forms .but before that they had uploaded defective forms .Even in small matters like this they had displayed incompetence , delays and untrained staff to answer difficulties .I think for processes govt she not stuff the CBDT with IRS bureaucrats but also draw people from MBAs and Project managers etc and most I portantly cultural change is called for

But some problems are still I personally identified after "15-09-2021"  -

1. E verification problems are still persisting.

2. ''Rectification'' tab under ''services'' menu is not added

3. Aadhar Verification still problem...

4. Responses menu still problem 

5. Refund reissue for AY 2020-21(FY 2019-20) still not enabled in refund failure cases. 

6. ITR filed before 01st September 2021 still not processed whereas ITR filed after 1st September 2021 getting processed hence there are no system to process ITR.

 7. Many more...

Today a new problem cropped up while preparing ITR for HUF files under latest utility DU-v.1.0.14 released on 18.09.2021........

During Validation: 1 error found...... i.e. "Aadhar of Representative cannot be same as assessee PAN/Aadhar"

In All the HUF drafts the same massage detected, where as in all the files the verification is done by KARTA, and no representative added anywhere!!!
