Need some advice

Dear all

I am a CA student currently undergoing my articleship in a small firm. I have cleared my IPCC exam  and also completed 1year and 8months of articlehship. I am planning to take the ATC Degree from ICAI and discontinue the course. Further I plan to pursure ICWA. Will the combination of ATC and CMA Degree fetch me a good start in the corporate world in mumbai? I have just completed my graduation bcom exams.  The reasons for dicontinuing the course are as follows

1. Undergoing articleship in the small firm without any proper guidance from my principle has left me with no other option but to discontinue the course since after qualifying with this degree I will not be able to compete with the other CA.

2. I had taken a transfer after completing 1 year and 4 months of articleship but the condition in both the firms is almost same. I take the blame on myself for not being able to select a proper firm. Now for getting a proper exposure the only option left with me is to go for industrial training in the last year of internship where I can expect a good exposure and guidance.

Please advice as what to do further?

The requirement for getting ATC Degree for IPCC registered students is completion of 1 year of articleship as per rules of ICAI. The completion of 3 or 3.5 year is for PCC registered students

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENT TO ENROL FOR ATC :
  • A candidate is eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course (ATC) on passing the Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto.

  • A candidate who has already passed Entrance Examination or Foundation Examination or Professional Education (Examination-I) shall be eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.

  • A candidate who was already registered for erstwhile Intermediate Examination or of Professional Education (Examination-II) or Professional Competence Examination shall be eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.
  • Listen my advice for you  please  continue your  CA study  don,t  levae  that   becuace  many student don,t do articleship  but still they  r  sucessful  CA   so.. concerentrate  on study.. n  pass  the  CA  final exam,,,,,,

Don't think negatively fight with conditions results are always good I thinhk you should try to complete the Course and compete the world. To get  ATC is not big achievement this is only certificate even after completion of Articleship you are eligible  for that and no matters from which firm you completed your articleship, many examples are there who completed their articleship from small or midsize firm and now they are on top level what I think you should try at least 1 attempt of Final.... But afterall this is your decision take it as per your capabilities..

Dear sunad

I guess you are feeling very very low at this point of time........and trust me everyone pursuing CA and going to articleship must have felt like you at some point of time or other.Thr are times when you feel immensely dejected from life.........but trust me evrything will pass on.

I understand your point that rite now you want a job enrichment, mean to say  some quality work and ur firm is not giving you that.

But leaving the course midway would in no way satisfy your inner self.In fact you can try and see the positive sides of it

Since thr is not much work pressure you are left with good tym to concentrate on your finals,With time and energy on ur hand you can even aim to score a rank in finals.

You can join Cs as well as Icwa simultaneusly, within two years u can complete it,So towards the end you can have three degrees CA CS CMA.

And lemme give you an example frm the movie band bajja baraat

remember what Shruti kakkar told bitoo sharma when they were abt to start thr first wedding at janakpuri,"pehle janakpuri ke kng ban jate hai phir sainik farm ke raja ban jaege"

so get exterme excellence in whatever work u r getting be it small..........than when tym will come you can easily mange with big things

last, kabhi bh khud ke liye kharab mat sochna, aisa mat socho ki you will not be able to compete with others

always say and beleive ki mein jo bhi karuga acha hi karuga

agar tm royoge to zindagi rone ke hazzar bahane degi.par agar hasoge khush rahoge to tmhare daanto ko dikhane ke lakho bahane degi

stay positive

(sorry for such a long reply)

DON'T DISCONTINUE CA. You are not better of doing ICWA.

Have patience. You are almost half way through your articleship. Complete your articleship. Pass the final CA and then do any additional qualifications depending what you want to specialise in.

You can join as a trainee or take a job from campus placements and improve your skills on the job.

Its what you make out of the articleship training matters and not what your principal gives you.

Best of luck

agree.

I was wrong in my previous reply.

.

I have attached herewith the informative file for ATC.

continue u r ca and in last 1year go for gud industrial training.

I think you should continue CA, don’t feel bad about the standard of training, so many students are doing CA by taking dummy article ship,  also your half of the article ship is already completed.

Also if you want to do CMA it is also good option. You can do CMA during the CA article ship, CMA has no restriction of training during course, and your 3 year’s practical experience in industry will be count as training. CMA course in India is only conducted by Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). So you can register with ICAI.

Hi,

As my all good friends know that there was a notification 33/2011 of service tax according to which service tax on preschool coaching is exempt effectife from 01-May-2011.  Is there any change in the current budget regarding service tax on preschool coaching. Pls advice.

Hi Sunad,

Please don't feel low. Following an escape route is not the solution of any problem. Also if you take up ICWA cource, there is also no gurantee that you will crack it easily. So don't quit. You are already half way through to your articleship period. Your aim should be to complete CA at first. You may take up ICWA also simultaneously. This will be easier for you as syllabus for both the courses are same.
