My 56-year-old mom got a good job offer to work as a data entry operator from home. My dad is retired from bank 5 years back and gets good monthly pension.
My mom fears that GOVT. might raise a query as why she has to work if her husband gets sizable amount of pension.
We, her kids, have been trying to convince her that Dad's pension will not be in trouble even if you start working/earning monthly salary. If the employer is ready to hire her, file her taxes and she is going to file taxes per law and all the rules, whats the problem?
My question is :--
Is her fear reasonable?? When she files taxes at the end of next year, will she be asked why she has to work/ earn when her husband gets good pension? Will my father's pension be affected by my mom's earnings? Is Govt. going to be concerned about her earnings when she did not work all her life and now she wants to work all of a sudden at age 56?
Please let me know.
