More than One Service Providing Business

Hi All,

I searched everywhere on this issue, I am getting a common conclusion, that If I provide more than one services, I can add it to my existing service tax registration and thats all.

But, thats not clearing my concern. My problem is I am planning for completely different entity business. I have already registered service tax in name of my first business of ' Some Agency ' ....

It is registered in name of the business name itself, though its a Proprietorship business. My current concern is, I am setting an IT service company, I wanted to know can I get a seperate registration in name of that ' IT Firm ', as may be required in future.

Or, should I change the business name in previous registration and change it to ' My Group Company ', and file for all the businesses; if change of name is allowed under this.

For all proprietor ship firm only one service tax number is require but if you want to register it with new registration of that name than you have to make in partnership firm , pvt. Ltd. Company or you can register it with your spouse PAN…

you can register as many companies as u like, but the accumulated gross exemption is 10 Lacs for all services combined under one PAN number

the servicetax registeration sequence will be as under

1st company .....PAN .....ST001

2nd company .....PAN ...ST002

3rd Company .......PAN ..ST003

and so on

you have to declare your earlier ST numbers at the time of registration fresh ST Code.

Every new ST regn will make u entitled to submit return for every code u own

gross exemption under all codes is 10 Lacs per year.

if you register under service tax as proprietor ship firm than you could not get benefit small service provider of 10lac.. all your proprietor ship firms turnover will include to calculate 10lac.
