Hi,

I had taken New Bima gold (179) policy in year 2011. As per this policy, I am eligible to receive 1,95,000 every 4th year. This April, I will receive 1,95,000 as part of Survival Benefit. Will it be considered as tax exemption? I pay yrly premium of 65,000 thousand and sum assured is 13,00,000 including survival benefits. I heard that section 10(10D) was amended to apply 2% TDS for certain policy. Will it apply in my case?

This amount will be exempt & no tds will be deducted as TDS is applicable only where premium amount exceeds 10% of minimum sum assured.
